Madsen Has Week To Forget About, Eyes Upcoming Weekend

After a disappointing showing at the Knoxville Raceway Double Feature Night, Ian Madsen and his KCP Racing team are quickly forgetting about their struggles, and are eyeing the upcoming weekend of racing.

“Our eye is on the big prize of wining the Knoxville Cup, so we are not going to dwell on a bad weekend, and are focusing on some cool things we have in store for this weekend,” the Australian pilot said.

The night started off decent for Madsen, as he timed the Nehring Construction/Team Kline Electric/Logan Contractors Supply No. 18 machine in 4th quickest.

Scoring a sixth place finish in his heat, Madsen made the feature, and as it was lined up straight up off of time, started in the second row for the feature.

A fuel pump issue plagued the team, and Madsen was relegated to a 19th place finish, putting him out of the inversion for the second feature, as he started in the 19th spot.

Looking to gain ground, and make up points in the second main, Madsen rode the high, scary side of the speedway until he packed his right-rear wheel full of mud, and limped home to a 13th place finish.

“It was a tough night for us, but we understand they will happen, and we have already began looking forward to this weekend,” he explained.

Madsen was also in action on Wednesday night at the Huset’s Speedway, where he recorded an 11th place finish with the World of Outlaws.

Ian and his KCP Racing team would like to thank Nehring Construction, Team Kline Electric, Logan Contractors Supply, Royal Flooring, Greenland Homes of Iowa, Stepping Stone Genetics, Quality Traffic Control, Factory Kahne, Rider Racing Engines, JRS Excavating, Brown and Miller Racing Solutions, Kent Performance, Smith Precision Products, Moose Blocks, Speedway Motors, Aspen Air Inc.
